BCB President Bulbul Launches Regional T20 Tournament in Chittagong

Aminul Islam Bulbul, who took over as BCB president, talked about decentralizing cricket across the country. The regional T20 tournament has started at the Chittagong ground from Thursday. The tournament was inaugurated by the BCB president. Several board directors were present.

There, Aminul Islam Bulbul said, there is no alternative to decentralization to spread the roots of cricket deeper. Bulbul said, ‘It was at the idea level. Akram Khan and his team did the work of bringing it from the idea to the field. Decentralization is not only about competitive cricket, but also so that each district can flourish the cricket entity of its own district.’

‘So that strong players from the upazila can play at the district level. The district can not only create a cricket team, but also a cricket family with physios, trainers, everything. What started today, I hope that such a beautiful system will be developed in other regions as well.’

Bulbul believes that school cricket will not only provide an opportunity to play, but will also create one of the ways to build new talent. He also talked about a strong pipeline, “This is the last stage of the game. First, you will practice. Then you will play matches. The new talents that will emerge through playing these matches are the easiest way. But it is not enough to just play matches, we also have work to do here. To see the talents here, to retain the talents. Our work has increased. We have a game development team, a hyperperformance team, so that we can strengthen our pipeline with the best talents there.”
