1) Mumbai Indians: 142 Wins
Team Mumbai has won the most matches in the history of the IPL also it’s the most winning team in IPL. Rohit Sharma has been the captain of the Mumbai team since 2013 and has led them to 5 title wins (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020), making them the joint most successful team in the Indian Premier League. Mumbai finished bottom of the points table for the first time in 16 years during the 2022 season.
2) Chennai Super Kings: 138 Wins
Chennai is second on the list of most wins despite missing the two IPL seasons (2016 and 2017). Among all the teams who have played more than 200 matches in the Indian T20 League, Chennai has the second-best win percentage of 58.68. The Yellow Army has qualified for playoffs most times (12) and has 5 Indian T20 League titles.
3) Kolkata Knight Riders: 130 Wins
Two-time champions Kolkata are 3rd on the list of most wins as a team in the Indian T20 League. The Purple and Gold have 130 outright match wins out of 252 played, a win percentage of 52.58. Kolkata are the only Indian T20 League team to register 10 consecutive wins in the tournament, achieved during the 2014-15 seasons.
4) Royal Challengers Bengaluru: 121 Wins
Bangalore are 4th on the list of most wins as a team in the IPL. Despite being one of the most followed teams and having players like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle in the team, the Bangalore franchise have never won the league. The team has 121 wins out of the 256 matches played over the last 17 years.
5) Delhi Capitals: 112 Wins
Delhi is the 5th team on the most wins list in the Indian T20 League. Delhi lost the final in 2020. Rishabh Pant has returned to lead the team for the 2024 season and will look to take the team to the playoffs after missing out in the last two seasons.
