Jack Catterall and Harlem Eubank are close to finalizing a deal to fight in a welterweight match on July 5 at Manchester’s AO Arena, according to The Ring.

Catterall, from Chorley, has a record of 30 wins and 2 losses, with 13 knockouts. His last fight was in February, where he narrowly lost to Arnold Barboza Jr. in a split decision at the Co-Op Live Arena.

Eubank, who is unbeaten with 21 wins and 9 knockouts, last fought in March. He stopped Tyrone McKenna in the 10th round at the Brighton Centre. Eubank has become popular by fighting on Channel 5, under the Wasserman promotion.

Since his loss to Barboza, Catterall has been searching for a well-known opponent to help him bounce back in both the 140 and 147-pound weight classes. Facing Eubank is seen as a great opportunity for him to return to the spotlight.

Harlem Eubank is the cousin of Chris Eubank Jr. and is often accompanied to the ring by his uncle, Chris Eubank Sr. The Eubank family name has become even more popular recently after Chris Jr’s big win over Conor Benn at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. That event drew over 65,000 fans and 620,000 pay-per-view sales around the world.

Now, 31-year-old Harlem Eubank is ready to make his own mark and add to his family’s legacy. However, Jack Catterall will be his toughest opponent so far. Catterall is a smart and tricky fighter, with major wins over Jorge Linares, Josh Taylor, and Regis Prograis. Many believe he should have been the undisputed 140-pound champion after his controversial split decision loss to Taylor in 2022.

While Eubank has grown in fame thanks to his Channel 5 fights, his biggest wins have been against less well-known fighters like McKenna, Timo Schwarzkopf, and Ishmael Ellis.

Catterall’s manager, Sam Jones, said earlier in April, “I know Harlem has spoken with his team. We’ve had short talks about the fight, but the offer has to be fair for Jack. If we get what we believe Jack deserves, the fight will happen next.”

Now, it seems both sides are close to reaching an agreement, and an official announcement is expected very soon. This fight promises to be an exciting clash between a rising star and a seasoned fighter looking to reclaim his place at the top.
