The news has been floating in the air for the past few days. After Anfield’s Trent Alexander-Arnold left the team, Liverpool was waiting for a new one. The wait was not long. Liverpool, who won the EPL title this season, has taken on a new right-back in a couple of weeks.
The name is also very familiar. They have brought Jeremy Frimpong, who is in great form in the German Bundesliga, to the team. He won the title in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen. He has also been a regular for the Netherlands national team. Frimpong now faces a new challenge in the English Premier League.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, a big source of the transfer, confirmed this news. Liverpool will spend 35 million euros to bring the Dutch right-back to the team. The release clause will be paid in full. Liverpool is taking him to the team on a 5-year contract. He comes as a replacement for English right-back Trent.

On the same day, the Anfield club has further strengthened the right-back position. The All Reds have renewed the contract with young right-back Connor Bradley until 2029. Two big news for Liverpool fans in one day before the transfer window officially opens.
The verbal agreement between Frimpong and Liverpool was completed last week. All that was needed was an agreement between the two clubs. That was done on Saturday. Frimpong will be getting his home-grown coach Arne Slott in the Premier League. He will also get two national team teammates Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo in the squad.
Frimpong has scored 5 goals and 5 assists in 33 matches in the German Bundesliga this season. He has 3 assists in 10 matches in the Champions League. This Dutch footballer is also very effective as a right-back, right wing-back and, in some cases, a right midfielder. The 24-year-old right-back is coming to Liverpool for the long term.
