There is a controversy in domestic football regarding the Spanish coach of the Bangladesh national team, Javier Cabrera. His mistakes in team selection and immaturity in tactics have come to the attention of many football-related people. At a press conference of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) today (Saturday), executive member Sakhawat Hossain Bhuiyan Shaheen demanded the resignation of the Spanish coach of the national team, Javier Cabrera.

This morning, the BFF held an official press conference. The BFF president and various committee chairmen spoke there. Finally, General Secretary Imran Hossain Tushar requested BFF executive member Shaheen to shed light on internal audit and government relations. Shaheen, instead of speaking on the issue, wanted Javier Cabrera to resign as a member of the national team committee.

BFF executive member Shaheen said, “I will not comment on audit and government relations here. I am a member of the national team committee. As such, I have only one agenda. I want the resignation of national team coach Javier Cabrera. This is the demand of 180 million people in the country.”

All 21 members of the BFF executive committee were invited to today’s press conference. Out of the 21, 15 attended. Sakhawat Hossain Bhuiyan Shaheen was at the very end of the stage, frowning. At one point during the conference, when he tried to talk to General Secretary Shaheen, his dissatisfaction was revealed again.

The other members of the committee were embarrassed by the BFF executive member’s comments at the official press conference. BFF President Tabith Awal said in this regard, “What happened is unfortunate. We will discuss it internally.”

During the question-and-answer session of the press conference, several journalists also asked questions about Javier Cabrera. BFF President Tabith Awal did not answer it at first. Later, when asked again, he said, “This is actually still a premature question and even if we answer it, it will be premature. We have a standard process. Where the national team committee will assess and review. After the assessment is done, your questions can be taken and answers can be given.”
