The second tier of the Bangladesh Premier League Championship League ended today. On the closing day, the BFF organized a trophy presentation ceremony for the champion and runner-up teams at the training ground of the Kings Arena. The champion PWD’s game was in Gazipur. As of the time of writing this report, the champion team has not reached the Kings Arena, so the award presentation ceremony has not yet taken place.
The match of the champion PWD was at 4 pm in Gazipur. And the match of the runner-up Arambagh was at 7 pm at the practice ground of the Kings Arena. Usually, the award ceremony is held at the venue of the champions. BFF has gone the opposite way. Instead of going to the champion’s venue, they have organized a ceremony at the venue of the runner-up Arambagh. Even though the Arambagh match ended at 9 pm, the ceremony is not taking place as PWD has not yet reached the venue.

BFF’s lack of planning is not new. This problem could have been avoided if the champion team’s match was organized at the Kings Arena. Even if the champion game was held at the Gazipur venue, the BFF officials could have managed the matter well. If some officials were in Gazipur and some were in the Kings Arena, both teams could have celebrated the trophy on time.
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will present the league trophy to Dhaka Mohammedan, the champions of the Bangladesh Premier League, tomorrow. The Premier League team is celebrating its title a round in advance. In the second-tier league, the trophy is being presented in the last match of the league, not at the champion’s venue, but at the runner-up’s venue.
