Hamza Dewan Chowdhury scored a goal in his second match for Bangladesh. The footballer, who plays in the world’s most popular English Premier League, scored a goal in his second match for the national team. Hamza’s goal has added an extra dimension to the football craze in Bangladesh.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Bangladesh’s Spanish coach Javier Cabrera said of Hamza’s goal, “The plan to score from set pieces is part of our training. David (assistant coach) worked on it. We scored from set pieces early in the match.”
Bhutan’s Japanese coach Nakamura saw Hamza’s performance as a key factor in Bangladesh’s win. Bangladesh coach Cabrera also acknowledged the same, “Of course, having a player like Hamza in our team gave us an extra dimension. We played well throughout the match.”

Last September, Bangladesh played a two-match series in Thimphu, Bhutan. They won the first match but lost the next match. Today, the Bangladesh coach is quite satisfied with the 2-0 defeat, saying, “We are as satisfied with the result of the game as we are with the performance. All three captains of Bangladesh, Sohel, Jamal and Topu, played together. Which has not happened in many cases in recent times. Fahmidul and Al Amin made their debuts. Overall, I am satisfied.”
There was a lot of curiosity about Fahmidul in the Bangladeshi football community. Fahmidul played in the Dhaka field today. The coach’s reaction to his performance was, “He gave two-three touches quite well. He has more room for improvement ahead.”
The Bhutan match was mainly for Bangladesh’s preparation for Singapore. The Bangladesh coach is happy to complete that preparation through this match. Tomorrow, Singapore will play against Maldives. Bhutan will play against Brunei.
There is a lot of talk about professionalism and modernity in the BFF. Today, after a long time, there was a lack of professionalism in the international match at the Dhaka Stadium. There was no banner in the post-match press conference.
