Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says a decision about Jack Grealish’s future will be made after the season ends.
Grealish, who played a key role in City’s 2023 treble win, has struggled for game time this season. He has started only seven Premier League matches and didn’t play in the FA Cup final loss to Crystal Palace, raising questions about whether he’ll leave the club this summer.
Guardiola said that the club’s current and future directors of football, Txiki Begiristain and Hugo Viana, along with Grealish’s agents, will discuss his future.

“I haven’t spoken with him yet,” Guardiola told reporters. “People may not believe me, but decisions like this are for the club and the player’s representatives. What happens will happen, but he needs to come back and start playing regularly again.”
Guardiola understands that Jack Grealish, who has two years left on his contract, isn’t happy with getting less playing time.
“It’s not just Jack,” Guardiola said. “No player anywhere is happy when they don’t get to play. Even when the team keeps winning, players still want to be on the field. That’s normal in every club.”
Meanwhile, Kevin De Bruyne is confirmed to leave the club. He will play his final home game for Manchester City in Tuesday’s match against Bournemouth. The 33-year-old midfielder’s contract ends in June, closing out a decade with 16 trophies at the club.
Although De Bruyne has said he could still play in the Premier League, Guardiola believes it’s the right time to part ways. Injuries and dips in form have affected his performances over the past two years.
“Some players are extremely hard to replace,” Guardiola said. “But we’ve had a good season, and now it’s time to look ahead.”
