Chennai Super Kings have roped in South African youngster Dewald Brevis as a replacement for injured fast bowler Gurjapneet Singh. The move comes as CSK looks to boost their squad in the second half of the tournament. Gurjapneet suffered an injury and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Brevis, just 21 years old, was signed for INR 2.2 Crore, despite having a base price of INR 75 Lakh during the auction. The franchise was able to bring him in since they had one overseas slot left in their lineup. Known for his aggressive batting style, Brevis has often drawn comparisons with AB de Villiers and is considered one of the brightest young talents in international cricket.
