“I think we performed really well as a team,” said Naveed, who was pleased with the cricketers’ adaptation to the tough conditions. “It was a long, tiring tour. We played 11 matches in 30 days, so it wasn’t easy. With all the travelling, the cricket and the training and all that, it was a tough tour.”
“Adjusting to the different conditions on the ground in South Africa, going to Zimbabwe; the conditions there were quite different to South Africa. So I think the boys adapted really well and the main thing was that we saw different players take charge when the situation arose, so it was really good to see.”
Navid said about his belief in hard work, ‘I am not a person who believes in luck. I believe in hard work. So I think the boys have worked hard in the last year or so. And now I think it is time for us to sit down and plan and be smart in the options we are taking and move forward with a good plan in the next six months.’
Later, Azizul Hakim, as the team captain, gave Tamim the role of a leader, Navid said, ‘Tamim is a good leader and he has shown over the last year or so that he is capable of leading the team well and he is very capable.’
