In such a situation, the command of the team was not to be given to Virat Kohli but to Jitesh Sharma.

However, Kohli led the team when Patidar got injured against CSK. Jitesh Sharma is seen saying in the video, “I am very grateful for the opportunity that I have been given. They are giving me the opportunity to captain RCB and it is a big deal for me and my family.”

He added, “I was thinking what would be the right combination as both Devdutt [Padikkal] and Rajat were not available and it was a big responsibility to replace them. And as per the position we were in the points table, we could have won this game. It was all running through my mind and all the meetings with the coaches and players in those 2-3 days, the batting order, discussions with the bowlers. I enjoyed it a lot.”
