Football legend Zico told AFP that Carlo Ancelotti is the right person to help Brazil return to the top in world football. Zico believes Ancelotti’s success with Brazilian players in the past makes him the best choice to coach the national team.
Ancelotti, an Italian coach, has promised to help Brazil win the World Cup again next year. He is the first non-Brazilian to lead the team in 60 years.
At Real Madrid, Ancelotti helped players like Vinicius Junior improve and become stars. Vinicius used to be criticized for not finishing well, but under Ancelotti, he became one of the best in Spain.
Zico, one of Brazil’s greatest footballers, said Ancelotti understands Brazilian football well. He has always supported Brazilian players and helped them succeed in his teams.
“He loves football and thinks about the game like we do in Brazil,” said Zico in Japan, where he works as an advisor to a J. League club.
Ancelotti, now 65, has won five Champions League titles and coached big clubs like Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, PSG, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid. This is his first time coaching a national team.
Zico also mentioned that fewer Brazilian coaches are working abroad now, especially in places like Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Japan.
